Azalea Builds Bonds With St. Joseph's Home
“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.” – Winnie the Pooh
On 29 Aug 2024, Azalea had the opportunity to make many new friends at St. Joseph’s Home. Our visit was filled with laughter, delightful conversations and unforgettable moments amidst delights of Char Kway Teow, Teresa Teng favourites and a lively Bingo game.

We quickly warmed up to each other over a fast and furious game of Bingo. Eyes were sharp, ears alert and hands shot up fast so as not to miss prized goodies lovingly prepared by Azalea volunteers.

We also enjoyed lovely vocals of residents of St. Joseph’s Home as they sang along to Teresa Teng’s greatest hits and nostalgic tunes started to bring back memories for the residents.

Adding to the joy, children from the co-located infant and childcare center joined us in song. We could not resist whipping out our phones for a video as their voices filled the room and charmed us all. We witnessed the positive energy of intergenerational relationships as the children’s chatter and laughter brought on smiles and warmed hearts.

Familiar local delights of Char Kway Teow, Hainanese chicken rice, satay and traditional ice kacang were served to residents and staff of St. Joseph’s Home. We also captured the moments of connection between residents of St. Joseph’s Home and Azalea staff at our photobooth, with each photo a memory cherished and a testament to the friendships formed.
We would like to thank the management and staff of St. Joseph’s Home for providing us with the time, space and opportunity to build these friendships with the residents. Home, as they say, is not a place but a feeling, and we certainly felt the love and care that has been poured into St. Joseph’s Home.
